Collection: Happy 4.20 Day

April 20th is known by many as “420 Day.” While the origins of this unofficial holiday are murky, it’s clear that cannabis has a long and complex history.

420 Day is celebrated by people all over the world. It’s a day to come together and celebrate cannabis culture.

Marijuana has been used for medicinal, recreational... and spiritual purposes for centuries. The first record of cannabis use comes from China, where it was mentioned in a medical text from 2737 BC. In the 8th century, Arab traders introduced cannabis to India, where it became popular for its psychoactive properties. From there, it spread to Europe and the Americas.

Every year on April 20th, people around the world celebrate 420 Day. While some use this day to advocate for legalization, others simply smoke marijuana, go to concerts, or eat special edibles. No matter how you celebrate, there’s no doubt that cannabis has come a long way.

Cannabis has been used in a variety of cultures. In some cultures, it is used for religious or spiritual purposes, in other cultures it is used for medicinal purposes, in many cultures it is simply used for its recreational value, and here at Divine Times by Shopp Java, we use it for divination.
